We are pleased to have Mr. Donald Sanders as the Head Chef of the Pine Crest Inn since March 2012.
Donald was born in Pinehurst and returns home to his birth place after his formative years in Chapel Hill. He attended Chapel Hill High School and began his 30 year restaurant career as a dishwasher working for his father, Blackie Sanders, owner of The Peddler Steakhouse, also in Chapel Hill.
Donald is a 1985 graduate of the Pinehurst Culinary Institute and early in his career worked for Sluggs of the Pines in Chapel Hill and Sluggs University Place in Charlotte. His most recent positions included that of Sous Chef at Grill 584 in Burlington and Executive Chef at Russell's Steak House in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Donald is well aware of the reputation of the Pine Crest Inn and looks forward to continuing the tradition of quality food and a comfortable dining experience. Donald enjoys visiting as many tables as possible during a given night and asking each of our guests about their Pine Crest Inn experience. We know it won't be too long before you get to know Donald Sanders personally.
